Max Benjamin, Untitled, 1973, Oil on canvas, 60" x 84"
Northwest artist Max Benjamin creates expressive landscape and abstract paintings. Benjamin graduated in 1954 from the University of Washington in Seattle, and in 1959 moved to Guemes Island in North Puget Sound, Western Washington, where he still resides.
He was honored with a Washington State Governor's Arts and Heritage Award in 1998. Max was featured in the MoNA exhibition Max Benjamin, A Road Well Travelled in Spring 2021.
